Register to join the eleventh season of Tel Azekah, July 16-August 11, 2023!

Team members are welcome to choose when they would like to join us. You can elect to participate for all four weeks of the season, or you may select individual weeks in which to participate

The cost of excavating at Azekah begins at 3,080 NIS per week which is discounted the longer you join us. This cost includes your excavation accommodation, meals, transportation to and from the site, guest lectures, classes, tours and more! This fee does not cover accommodation or food over the weekend (Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon), or flights to Israel. We also highly recommend that you personally acquire travel insurance to ensure you are covered for all possible costs.

Payment is to be made in NIS according to the conversion rate at the time of payment.

Those who have already excavated at Azekah before, or who are students of a partner university, may be eligible for a discount. Contact our administrators to learn more.

After submitting your application, we will be in touch with additional information regarding payment, your arrival in Israel and life at Azekah! Application forms should be submitted no later than June 1, 2023, in order to guarantee your place on the excavation. Our Cancellation Policy

We completely understand that life can change suddenly and force people to cancel their excavation reservation. As a result, there are two different times in the year that volunteers can cancel.

Cancellation before June 30: A full refund, minus a $50 USD registration and banking fee.
Cancellation after June 30: A full refund, minus a $200 cancellation fee for each week, and a $50 USD registration and banking fee.

Cancellation during the season, or without announcement, will receive no refund.

2023 Excavation Application

After registering, this page will show a copy of the registration details sent to the Azekah team. Please save your registration information for your records. You should expect to receive an email from an Azekah administrator within a week.

By submitting this form, I acknowledge that:

  • I am physically and mentally able to participate in the Tel Azekah excavation and acknowledge that there are certain risks involved in such activities.
  • I will be insured under a valid medical insurance policy throughout the entire span of my excavation period, and I confirm that my medical insurance covers any damage that I may be subjected to as a result of my presence on an archaeological site.
  • In the event of an emergency in which I, or my emergency contact, cannot be reached, I authorize the directors and head administrative staff of the excavation to make medical decisions for me and to administer first aid if deemed necessary.
  • I have read and agree to the cancellation policy outlined above.
