Important Update!
Due to the current situation in Israel, the beginning of the academic year in Israeli universities had to be postponed, and it will therefore end unusually late this year – at the end of July. To make sure our Israeli students can excavate with us this summer, The Lautenschläger Azekah Expedition has decided to postpone the dates of the 2024 season.
We will make the whole of August “The Month of Azekah”! – and the new dates of the season will be from August 4 to August 30, 2024.
We apologise for any inconvenience this change might have caused, and are intent on taking it as an opportunity to create new positive experiences! We’ll rejoice together in the slightly longer August nights (a few more minutes of sleep every night this season!), and the smell of the approaching Autumn as the sun rises over the Tel.

Registration
Team members are welcome to choose when they would like to join us. You can elect to participate for all four weeks of the season, or you may select individual weeks in which to participate.
The cost of excavating at Azekah begins at $875 USD per week which is discounted the longer you join us. This cost includes your excavation accommodation, meals, transportation to and from the site, guest lectures, classes, tours and more! This fee does not cover accommodation or food over the weekend (Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon), or flights to Israel. We also highly recommend that you personally acquire travel insurance to ensure you are covered for all possible costs.

Our Cancellation Policy
We completely understand that life can change suddenly and force people to cancel their excavation reservation. As a result, there are two different times in the year that volunteers can cancel.
Cancellation before June 30: A full refund, minus a $50 USD registration and banking fee.
Cancellation after June 30: A full refund, minus a $200 cancellation fee for each week, and a $50 USD registration and banking fee.
Cancellation during the season, or without announcement, will receive no refund.

After registering, this page will show a copy of the registration details sent to the Azekah team. Please save your registration information for your records. You should expect to receive an email from an Azekah administrator within a week.
